Welp. The Phils lost game two to the Orioles tonight 5-4. That was a tough one. The Phils drop to 5-8 and the O’s improved to 9-7.
Nothing was horrible tonight, but nothing on the Phils end was great except for Zach Eflin’s career-high in strikeouts (10). Eflin went six allowing four runs, two coming on dinky solo homers. Wasn’t mad about Zach’s performance but he sadly got the loss and is now 0-1. The offense just didn’t look like the offense from Tuesday night from the first pitch on. Rhys Hoskins grounded into three double plays, and the best the offense could muster was two runs in the third in a little rally. Aside from that they got one off an RBI double by Knapp (who had three hits tonight, a career high for one game) in the second, and another from Knapp’s RBI single in the eighth.
The offense wasn’t bad tonight, all they gave up was an earned run for Adam Morgan in the seventh inning off the third solo shot from the O’s on the night. It was a tough loss for sure but we need the win in the series finale tomorrow afternoon.
Andrew Knapp doubles, Didi Gregorius scores, 1-0 Phillies.
Anthony Santander solo homer, 1-1 game.
J.T. Realmuto single scores Rhys Hoskins, 2-1 Phils.
Didi Gregorius sacrifice fly, Bryce Harper scores, 3-1 Philadelphia.
Chance Sisco drives in Renato Nunez and Dwight Smith on a single, 3-3 tie.
Solo homerun for Rio Ruiz, 4-3 Baltimore lead.
Chance Sisco with a solo shot, 5-3 Orioles.
Andrew Knapp RBI single scores Jean Segura, 5-4 Orioles.
Final: Orioles 5, Phillies 4
