Potential Eagles 2020 Draft Gems, Episode 9: Dakavian Champion

Who could add more depth to the Eagles interior defensive line? Could it be Southern University star Dakavian Champion?

Dakavian Champion, a 6’0 305-pound nose tackle out of Southern University in the SWAC conference, is Texas native would be a great fit in stopping the run in the NFC East that has incredible running backs like Saquon Barkley, Ezekiel Elliott, and Adrian Peterson.

One thing teams have concerns about is the level of competition. Dakavian played well vs Memphis, a higher-end team in the FCS in Florida A&M. When watching him play, he reminds me of Kenny Clark of the Green Bay Packers. He has great run-stuffing ability with the addition of high-end pass rushing. He will never wow you with his stats, he just does the dirty work in the trenches. He has powerful hands to rip and attack the guard or center that he’s facing.

He would be a good addition to the Eagles defensive line rotation. You can never have enough good interior defensive linemen. Dakavian would be a UDFA in the 2020 NFL draft. I would highly recommend bringing him to Philadelphia.
