Chris Williams is an 6’2″ 305-pound defensive lineman from Wagner College. He can play both defensive end and defensive tackle. He might be listed at 305, but he plays like he’s 265.
Chris has amazing sideline speed with a great burst off the line. He can take over a drive by himself. Week one this past season Wagner played FBS Connecticut where Chris had recorded 11 tackles, .5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. He closed lots of gaps forcing the runner to change direction forcing a loss on the play that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.
Chris played outstandingly in NEC conference play, racking up 41 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 QB hit, 1 pass breakup and a blocked kick, in 7 conference games.
His total stats were 62 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 2 QB hits, 1 pass breakup and a blocked kick.
Jim Schwartz could use a young, high motor jack-of-all-trades defensive lineman like Chris Williams.Chris is projected to be a primary UDFA.
