What’s wrong with Carter Hart on the Road?

Carter Hart has been arguably one of the better players all season, and his numbers show that he has been a better goalie at home then, compared to being on the road.

The Flyers have been one of the best teams at home this season, only having 2 regulation losses, and having an overall better game in all 3 zones. On the Road, it’s a whole different story, The Flyers are 7-9-3 on the Road, while Hart is 2-7-1 with a 3.51 GAA, and a .851 SV%. At Home, the Flyers are 13-2-4, while Hart is playing like a Vezina caliber goalie with a .947 SV% and a 1.49 GAA, and is 11-1-2.

To me, a lot of this has to do with the defense in front of him, especially in the last game against Vegas. Hart gave up 4 in the 1st, and the defense was poor in that game. Way too many turnovers, not getting the puck out the first try, scrambling around, lost coverage, anything that could have gone wrong, went wrong for the Flyers in the 1st period.

As for the Offense, they had a good game, lots of good shifts and 4 goals. The 1st line combined for 7 points, Coots having 2 goals and 1 assist, Giroux with a goal and an assist, and Jake with 2 assists. Konecny got the other goal for the Flyers, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Golden Knights.

The Flyers will next face the Arizona Coyotes, in a game they HAVE to win. They are 1-3 on this road trip and should be 3-1, and higher in the standings. Carter Hart will look to redeem himself as he will be in the pipes tonight, and will try to bump up his road numbers as well. The Flyers have already played the Coyotes this season, the team who gave them their second regulation loss this season at home, beating them 3-1.
